The first sign of online gambling regulations in the United States getting passed this year came today when Congressman George Miller [CA-7] signed on to co-sponsor Bill HR 2046. Miller become the 46th co-sponsor of the Internet Gambling and Regulation Enforcement Act, the Bill sponsored by Rep. Barney Frank [D-MA].
Rep. Miller is serving his 17th term in Congress. He currently serves as the Chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, and is a member of the House Natural Resources Committee, as well as Chairman of the House Democratic Policy Committee.
Miller is a champion of the people, working to protect Americans retirement and Health Benefits, furthering Innovation and Technology, Science and Education and is committed to strengthening America’s economy and creating good jobs that stay in this country.
Miller is one of the four original authors of the No Child Left Behind Act in 2001 and is leading the effort to re-authorize the law to make it more fair, flexible and better funded. Miller is the author if the College Cost Reduction and Access Act, which is the single largest expansion for federal financial aid for college since the GI Bill.
Congressman Miller has been serving in the House since 1974, he has introduced the bill to increase the minimum wage from $5.15 an hour to $7.25. H.R. 2 was one of the first bills passed by the 110th Congress.
